Reply to: Postbiotics — when simplification fails to clarify

This Correspondence addresses a response by Aguilar-Toalá et al. to the published ISAPP consensus statement on the definition and scope of postbiotics. The authors reinforce the arguments made in the original paper, reiterating the postbiotic definition as: “a preparation of inanimate microorganisms and/or their components that confers a health benefit on the host.”
