Positive health outcomes associated with live microbe intake from foods, including fermented foods, assessed using NHANES database

Work to advance the science behind live dietary microbes continued in 2023 with the publication of some of the first real-world evidence that higher consumption of live microbes may promote health. This interrogation of the NHANES database linked consumption of foods containing live microbes with several biomarkers of health, including favorable changes in blood pressure, BMI, blood plasma glucose and waist circumference.
